It was my cousin sis’ birthday, I had it in my mind for over a week and got a calendar reminder. Thought that i’ll call her later and then I forgot.. #lifeslikethat
Lessons by my father – think clear and heart is not always right
It is very important to think clearly in life. There will be a lot of pressure on you and at times you will be surrounded by a lot of work and tensions, but in these times only the clear head can survive. Like they say : जब काल मनुज पर छाता है तो पहले विवेक मर जाता है! so remember you must not let your mind clouded by everything.
Tackle the problem one step at a time. Son Yard by yard life is hard, inch by inch life is a cinch. So breakdown your problems and solve them one step at a time.
You must also remember that your heart might not give you the best decisions always. Its good to listen to your heart, but your mind must also approve of what your heart says. Yes sometimes you can overlook what your brain says but not always. That decision you will have to take for yourself. We can only guide you through it, but in the decision is always yours.
Lessons by my father – make mistakes
There are things that you have to learn on your own. You have to fall down, get bruised so that you enjoy the pleasures of getting up and conquering what you want. Remember life is going to throw things at you and you have to brave enough to take them in your stride and get back a stronger person.
Every failure, every fall teaches you which mistakes not to make and yes that is what life is. Learning from mistakes. We all will say that we want whats best for you. You do understand that we care for you but some things you have to learn the hard way. There will come times when I will not be happy with you about certain things I might at first support you but then I will be glad that you are building your own castles.
At the same time it is not necessary to make the same mistakes that people ahead of you have made. To learn from your mistakes is smart but to learn from others’ mistake is even smarter.
Remember ” It is better to fail than to fear failure” because in this case you atleast gave a shot and if you gave you best, you should never regret it.
Like Abraham Lincoln said – May god give you the courage to be impatient and patience to be brave.

Life – Whats your take on it???
I got this SMS (actually a series of them) from a friend n it got me thinking.. Whats your take on it:
I was sitting n thinking hard abt life.. How it changed from simple college life to strict professional life? How pocket money changed to huge monthly pay- cheques.. but gives less happiness.. How a few local clothes changed to branded wardrobe.. but less occasions to use them.. How a single plate of samosa changed to a full pizza.. but hunger is less. How a bicycle alwayz in reserve changes to a car always on.. but less places to go.. how a tea by roadside changed to Barista, CCD.. but it feels as if the shop is far away.. how a limited prepaid card in mobile changed to postpaid package.. but v dont feel like using it. how a general class journey changed to flight journey.. but less vacations for enjoyment n many more.. May be this is the truth of journey called ‘Life’
नया सवेरा
रोज़ उठता हूँ दिल में अरमान लिए
आखों में हजारों ख्वाब लिए
पर यकीन वह दिन जरूर आएगा

Career choice?????
While discussing the career options of my cousin, who is in 10th standard right now, it was deja vu for me. 6 years ago it was me who was in the middle of such great dilemma.ˇAt that point of time my knowledge about different career paths was bonkers. I had no idea what to do and I didn’t hate any subject more than the other. So what I did was see the trend of children in our family so it was either Medical or Non-medical. To choose between Medical and Non-medical was simpler now. I had seen my sis slog hard even after she got through MBBS entrance. No I didn’t have the courage to slog like that, I wanted my college life to be fun. So it was non-medical.
Now after my graduation, when I lived the life, learnt a lot about other streams I regret to have entered something where I had no original passion or interest. After 4 years of fun college life am I happy? No, I am not. Do I love my job? No I don’t. So have I done something that interests me? And alas the answer is NO.
So I don’t want my cousin to make the same mistake again. I don’t want him to jump into engineering just because I did it or his parents want it or he is good at mathematics.
We all are in a position to help our younger ones and guide them through this phase so that they can get into a career that they enjoy. Don?t do what the world tells you to do, just listen to your heart. And in this way we might be able to see a lot more writers, painters, artists, filmmakers etc.
